Sports Specific Massage is designed for athletes, but anyone with chronic pain, injury or range-of-motion complications will benefit. Sports Massage benefits athletes in both training and sporting events. By improving optimal levels of performance, injury prevention, and muscle recovery, athletes gain the edge they need for competing at the most competitive levels with the lasting longevity to stay at the top of their game.

 

Sport Massage aides the clients in:

-Injury prevention

-Injury recovery

-Stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation

-Trigger point therapy

-Deep tissue

-Prevents/Relieves muscle cramps/spasms

-Sports Specific muscle imbalances

-Sports Specific muscle tension release

 

 

There are four main types of sports massage for a competitive athlete:

 

Pre-Event Sports Massage

Which is a short stimulating massage usually lasting 15 -45 minutes prior to an event. With emphases on parts of the body that are more directly involved in exertion.

 

Post-Event Sports Massage

Received within an hour or two of the event aides in normalizing the body’s tissues and muscle imbalance.

 

Restorative Sports Massage

Received during training to allow the athlete optimal abilities to train harder, more efficiently, and with less chances of injury.

 

Rehabilitative Sports Massage

Helps to aide any alleviating pain due to injury and returning the body to health getting the athlete back to their sport.
